Wolves In Scotland

This pack of wolves resided in The Highland Wildlife Park, near Kingussie.

I visited the pack at various times over an 18 month period and liaised with the park management, so that I could build up an image catalogue of the pack's development.

Wild Wolves are extinct in the UK, having been hunted through persecution and ignorance. Legend has it that the last wolf was killed in Scotland in 1743. There is currently an ongoing debate as to whether the wolf should be reintroduced to the wilds of Scotland to allow for an ecological balance to be restored in that area.

Would you like to hear the howl of the wolf echo in the night sky? I can only describe it as magical.
